CIBS (CI Business Services Ltd) timeline: from 1986 to the future

Today CIBS is a thriving industry leader with a £4million turnover, 200 staff, over 1000 contracts, a high-profile client list, and Investors in People certification. But where did it all begin?

1986: A new company is born

Director Julien Bach set up Clean Interiors in 1986 as an end-of-tenancy flat clearing company.

Moving swiftly from a humble spare bedroom to a Balham shop, the company soon expanded into a commercial cleaning service winning BS5750 quality assurance.

1998: Developing Excellence

Under the new management team of Julien Bach and Julia Kulinski, the company, now CI Business Services Ltd, expanded further and achieved ISO 9002 new Quality Assurance standard. Our expertise and commitment to high standards attracted high-profile clients like Capita Group Plc and Hertz UK Ltd.

2004: New Services For A New Era

We introduced our pest control and washroom services in 2004. This led to a companywide restructuring and a new era for CIBS - two distinct divisions were set up cibsfacilities.com for cleaning pest control and office plants andcibshygiene.com for washroom services.

2005: Achievement And Recognition

Almost immediately, the new initiative paid off. 2005 saw cibsfacilities.com gain a £50,000 per year pest control contract, and company director Julien Bach was nominated for an Employer of the Year award by Shell Technologies Enterprise Programme. 

2007: Awards Are Testament To Our Service

Our outstanding customer service and commitment to our staff saw us win a Kimberly-Clark Golden Service award and gaining Investor in People accreditation.

2009: Back To Back Success

Our consistency shines again, as this time CIBS win 2 awards at the biannual Kimberly-Clark Golden Serviceaward. Best Cleaned Premises for Offices above 15,000 sq.ft and the prestigious Cleaner of the Year award makes us stand out from the competition yet again.

2010/11: Creating Opportunity

2010 sees CIBS preparing for future growth. The development and implementation of our positioning strategy. is designed to give us renewed market focus and create opportunities for our customers by helping them create healthy, happy businesses across 5 sectors: Corporate, Education, Leisure, Managing Agents and Housing Associations.
